Our passion for the ultimate music experience — for almost four decades.

Joenit: a family firm that lives for music

For us, high-performance audio equipment is not a goal in itself, but an instrument to translate music into pure emotion. Joenit was founded in 1988 by Wim Verellen and Hilde Verbergt and is today led from Mechelen, Belgium, with that same passion, by their sons Bram and Sam.

We choose the brands we carry ourselves, with the greatest care. We use them every day, at home and in our demo rooms, and so come to know each piece inside out. We pass that knowledge on as honest advice, expert service and a keen eye for what’s happening in the market.

Just as important are the people behind the brands. We know the designers and makers personally and share the same passion, because above all we are music lovers ourselves — just like you. You notice that involvement in everything we do. So we support our dealers with expertise, stock and service, and our own repair workshop makes sure every piece keeps playing for years, well beyond the sale.

Our story

  1. 1988Founded as a specialist in electronic components, growing into industrial supply (NMBS, Electrabel, P&G).
  2. 1991Pivot to high-end audio; a new building in Mechelen with three demo rooms, a workshop and a showroom.
  3. 1993Exclusive Benelux importer for Rega — the start of a lasting partnership.
  4. 1995Discover Totem Acoustic at CES Las Vegas — exclusive importer for Benelux, France & Britain.
  5. 2006The second generation, Bram and Sam Verellen, join the family business.
  6. 2008Wim Verellen creates the beChocolate, an unrivalled amplifier — a statement.
  7. 2013Bram and Sam take over the day-to-day leadership, true to the company’s values.
  8. 2019Exclusive Belgian importer for Chord Electronics; the range grows with high-end DACs and amplifiers.
  9. 2025Benelux distributor for Kerr Acoustic, a British studio and transmission-line manufacturer.
  10. 2026Exclusive Chord Electronics importer for the entire Benelux.

Chord was founded in 1989 by avionics engineer John Franks, who designs every component without compromise and machines it from solid aluminium. From DACs and headphone amplifiers to the flagship Ultima amplifiers — preamplifier and 780W monoblocks — while DAC designer Rob Watts keeps raising the bar for digital sound with his FPGA converters.

The British workshop of Jes Kerr — himself a musician and producer — has one unmistakable signature: the transmission line. The rear wave travels a long path through the hand-built Baltic-birch cabinet, free of box resonances, for bass that is fast, deep and effortless — paired with a feather-light ribbon tweeter for an open, true-to-life sound.
